The tears are streaming down her face, and she is doubled over clutching her stomach. Her young daughter is jumping up and down, pointing squealing & screaming, audibly gasping for air, “Daddy! Daddy!” Is this the scene of an accident? No! It is the reaction of audience members as they laugh their way through a side-splitting show at (insert venue, date, and time) with CLaroL the CLown.
Using a simplistic approach to comedy CLaroL the CLown is amazingly able to engage the children, parents, grandparents, who attend her shows. For example she can take a simple non-functioning folding stool, and turn it into an uproarious rollick involving the stool, a man, and a sore finger. This escalates into an hysterical surprise ending you have to see to believe!
Energy and talent abound with this youthful clown lady. Whether she is on stage with children, jumping into the audience to find unsuspecting helpers, singing, dancing, juggling, plate spinning, you will have to sit back and hang on as CLaroL takes you on an riotous roller coaster like ride of a show.
It is this ride that keeps children and families coming back to see CLaroL. She has become a requested & repeat performer at festivals, fairs and events throughout Ontario.
CLaroL the CLown AKA Carol Crooks stepped into her big floppy shoes 18 years ago after touring as a mime in Central America. Upon returning the then, penniless student found work as a mime in the streets of her home town, Windsor, ON. After this, the calls just kept coming in. She was flooded with requests to perform at parties, festivals and corporate functions. But she didn’t stop there. She went on to create clown shows with the Windsor Symphony and National Arts Centre Orchestras. With appearances at the Royal Hanneford Circus, Lake Compounce Theme Park, The Ontario Science Centre her career has ballooned into an average of 200+ appearances per year.
A CLaroL show IS family fun.
